In 2019 Chris While & Julie Matthews celebrate 25 years as one of the best and most loved Duos on the British and World stages.

With 25 years of unrivalled musical partnership, gathering numerous nominations, awards  and critical acclaim along the way, much beloved British artists and singer-songwriters Chris While and Julie Matthews will be celebrating a quarter of a century as one of the best and most enduring duos to come out of this country.  This year will see a brand new album 'Revolution Calls' and an extensive Autumn tour of the UK as well as numerous summer festivals.

This August, Shrewsbury Festival have invited Chris and Julie for a 'While and Mathews 'Take Over' and to curate the Pengwern Stage on the Sunday for the day.

Last November saw them touring the UK with the moving 7digital show 'The Ballads Of Child Migration'  with Boo Hewerdine, O'Hooley and Tidow, Jez Lowe, John Doyle, John McCusker, Michael McGoldrick , Andy Seward and Barbara Dickson.

Addionally they were invited soloists alongside Jez Lowe, Bob Fox, John Tams, Barry Coope and Jim Boyes, performing with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in 'The Ballads of The Great War Live' on Friday Night Is Music Night , BBC Radio 2  presented by Michael Morpurgo.

In 2019, Chris and Julie are more sought after and more creative than ever and are at the very top of their field.  In Spring 2018 they returned to Australia on their 12th biennial tour. They were names 'Artists of the Year' at the prestigious Port Fairy Music Festival, one of the biggest events of its kind in Australasia.

In September last year Chris and Julie toured the UK with super group 'Daphne's Flight',  It was their second tour after a 21 year gap bringing audiences across the UK and Europe to their feet with their powerful arrangements and beautiful harmonies.

In December - as St Agnes Fountain, along with David Hughes and Fairport’s Chris Leslie they completed their 18th annual sell-out tour of the UK. Always heartwarming and popular they will be out again in December this year.

With numerous festival appearances this year and a new album in 2020. The Chris and Julie story continues….

Folk in the Barn says - They are immensely talented, hard-working, shining ladies who fill the room with their beautiful music and positive energy.  We love them and think they will sound amazing in the pristine acoustics of St Marys.
