The Albion Christmas Band

Founder of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band, Ashley Hutchings is joined on stage by Kellie While, Simon Care and Simon Nicol, for an evening of traditional English Christmas music, song, humourous stories, dancing and celebration.

Touring for two weeks each December, selling out wonderful venues all over the UK such as Buxton Opera House,  The Sage, Gateshead, and the best venue for intimate acoustic music performance in  Canterbury - The Gulbenkian , The Albion Xmas Show is a very popular show appealing to all ages. Described in the Guardian as “the perfect antidote to the corporate Christmas”, this is a show you must not miss!

At the end of  2016 the band released a new studio album ‘Magic Touch’ which received critical acclaim from both the folk press and audiences alike.

“In Magic Touch, the Albion Christmas Band have delivered an excellent album that will take you to Christmas past whilst looking forward to festive seasons yet to come. It blends old with new, melancholy with hope and reflection with joy. They do indeed have a magic touch in consistently bringing forward excellent words, songs and tunes, over the years, which continue to appeal and entertain legions of fans new and old.”
Andy McMillan, Bright Young Folk

"Saltaire show was pure magic, guys. Fab set list and all four of you on great form. Kellie, honey-drenched heaven; divine as ever."

"I've seen a lot of different Albion Xmas shows (first was in 1984, as I recall) and last night's has to be counted alongside the very best (which was the Leserf, Morter, Beer incarnation in my opinion). That was so good, and I never expected you to equal it: last night you did - for different reasons...but from start to finish it was splendid - an opinion shared by many local friends who were also there."

Nigel Schofield

"Kellie - Your singing wasn't just a performance - it was a complete vocal master class. Totally effortless. You're one of a very few singers who can take an Alan Hull song and make it a million times better than the original. The late Lesley Duncan achieved that with her version of 'Walk in the Sea' and you absolutely smashed 'Winter Song'. I come along to the Christmas Albion tours every year and you really do excel."
